Deep-diving this wallet. Let me start with everything I already captured on it, then pull its complete history.

The full picture is assembled. Here’s the verdict.

Verdict: genuinely anonymous: this one used a mixer

0x42d76a948544a524582ee8e403f9fd1e41ec7a87 is the most deliberately privacy-hardened wallet in the entire collector set. Here’s the full deep analysis:

The funding wall: Tornado Cash

The wallet’s only funding ever was 9.96 ETH on Dec 31, 2020, withdrawn from the Tornado Cash 10 ETH pool (0x910Cbd...39DbF, the exact address listed in Tornado’s official deployments and later OFAC-sanctioned). Tornado Cash GitBook, OFAC

I followed the withdrawal transaction’s sender hoping for a slip: it was 0x4A23806f...D437F5, but that address turned out to be a professional Tornado relayer, with dozens of withdrawals across all four ETH pools and a trail of small fee payments. No link to the user. The trail is cut exactly as intended.

What they did with the money (Dec 31, 2020 – Feb 2021)

Within hours of the Tornado withdrawal, they went art shopping, weeks before XCOPY’s 2021 explosion:

Notably, “The Deadness” is an edition of the same XCOPY work your first whale (0x0b84...71bf) bought for 29.5 ETH in 2024; this wallet paid 1.25 ETH for theirs in Jan 2021.

Then: lights out

After a single ENS renewal in April 2022 (0.0075 ETH), the wallet went permanently dormant. It never sold anything, and it let hashmasks.eth expire, and the name was burned in May 2026 when a third party re-registered it. ~0.30 ETH and the whole collection still sit untouched.

Identity verdict

Unknowable from public data, by design. No ENS, no socials, no exchange hot-wallet funding to subpoena-theoretically trace; the one funding hop is a sanctioned mixer via a professional relayer. The only remaining theoretical avenue is probabilistic Tornado deposit-side timing correlation (who deposited exactly 10 ETH before Dec 31, 2020): indicative at best, never conclusive.

Profile sketch: someone crypto-native enough in late 2020 to use Tornado properly, with strong early conviction on XCOPY and a taste for the Hashmasks moment, then walked away. If I had to bet: an early ETH whale who wanted an untraceable art vault, not a public collector persona.
