Foobar, also published as 0xfoobar, is a pseudonymous software developer, writer and auditor whose public work includes creating Delegate Cash.12 In a 2023 interview, foobar described moving from machine learning into Web3 and said Delegate arose from observing repeated losses caused by phishing, unsafe signatures and the impracticality of interacting through wallets holding valuable assets.1 The resulting system lets a storage wallet assign interaction rights to a separate wallet, preserving easier onchain use without directly exposing the stored tokens.1 In a technical podcast interview, foobar discussed immutable smart contracts, smart-contract security, cryptoeconomic design and drafting Ethereum Improvement Proposals; the program also identifies “Bored and Dangerous” among foobar’s public software projects.2
