Mlibty is the artist name of Marko Zubak, a Zagreb-born multidisciplinary artist who studied painting at Bologna’s fine-arts academy and completed a fine-arts degree in Barcelona in 2006; his biography lists painting, sculpture, digital art, paper toys, and animation among his fields.1 His documented exhibitions include paper-toy and MLIBTY Shadows presentations as well as crypto-art exhibitions at Kunsthalle Zürich and other international venues.1 In a Mona interview, Zubak described his practice as linking digital and physical processes: digital collages could become components of paintings, while digitally modeled templates became folded paper sculptures.2 He explained that MLIBTY means “my life is better than yours” but functions as criticism, with the Shadows representing humanity rather than a specific person or gender.2
