A 2019 academic study of SuperRare’s first year described VK Crypto as an engineer, artist, and writer interested in blockchain-based art; its dataset covered platform events from April 2018 through April 2019.1 SuperRare’s 2020 Coldie profile placed VK Crypto in the platform’s early collecting history by recording the alias as the collector of Coldie’s first SuperRare work, minted in July 2018.2 In a later published interview, Coldie independently characterized VK Crypto as an early patron of crypto art and recalled the collector’s role in the history of that work.3
