XCOPYBook exposes a public, read-only research layer for its source-linked XCOPY registry, KnownOrigin edition catalogue, member directory and provenance records. Public research requires no API key. Account, collector, purchase, delegation and private-file workflows remain behind their normal access controls.

Versioning and errors

The canonical registry uses /api/registry/v1/. Incompatible registry changes receive a new major version; any deprecation and removal date will be published here and in response headers. API errors are JSON records with a stable code, a readable explanation and a resolution hint where one is available.

MCP

Connect by Streamable HTTP POST. The public tool is deterministic and read-only: it searches the live public catalogue and returns canonical source URLs. It cannot sign, transact, reveal protected material or operate a user account.
